Solomon Corporation has entered into a partnership with Niagara Transformer that will have immediate effects on our business and offers long-term opportunities to expand our footprint and market penetration.
“We have been evaluating options to expand our power transformer capabilities for several years,” said Mitch Sweigart, Business Development Manager. “Within the past year, partnering with Niagara became a clear answer to our needs.”
“From the Niagara Transformer perspective, we are very excited about our partnership with the team at Solomon. Our businesses are very complementary and we feel the relationship will be mutually beneficial to both our companies and our customers. Most importantly, we feel we have a strongly aligned and shared culture that values laser-like execution with great quality and world class engineering and manufacturing expertise,” said John Darby, president of Niagara Transformer Corp.
Established relationship provides foundation
Solomon has an established, long-term working relationship with Niagara and the ownership of both companies are excited about the new opportunity to capitalize on our relationship. The two companies have a marketing and fulfillment partnership that provides our customers enhanced levels of quality, support and value.
Founded in 1971, Solomon Corp is the nation’s largest rebuilder of transformers, regulators and reclosers. We are committed to providing unmatched service to our utility and industrial customers. Our engineering support, safety and environmental records and dedication to delivering quality products have set us apart from the competition for more than 40 years.
Niagara Transformer was founded in 1933 and is a leader in the design and manufacture of new transformers intended to cover the widest spectrum of the world’s transformer applications.
More quality solutions for our customers
“Niagara has dedicated personnel to support this initiative in sales and operations,” Mitch said. “We will allocate sales and marketing resources to find and sort these opportunities.”
Solomon’s nationwide direct sales force are experts in the repair of transformers and other electrical equipment. Our relationships and expertise in the repair industry combined with Niagara’s proven success in building high voltage and specialty equipment provides the foundation for a successful partnership.
All the equipment provided through this partnership will be labeled and processed just as Solomon equipment built in the rest of our facilities. The requirements for building Class II power transformers is a significant investment of time and resources. Rather than developing these capabilities internally, Niagara, which is a proven leader in this space, will provide these capabilities.
This partnership expands Solomon’s capabilities and product offerings to include:

“This alliance will certainly have a positive impact on our ability to service utilities and industrials throughout the United States,” Mitch said. “Solomon has more than 2,000 active customers nationwide and combined with Niagara’s nearly century-long presence in the industry we collectively offer the highest level of service for customers in the Northeast and beyond.”
This aligns with Solomon Corp’s growth initiatives for 2018 and beyond. We will continue to offer our customers enhanced product and service offerings as a leader in the transformer market.
