Niagara Transformer Celebrates 70th Anniversary
Manufacturing transformers in the USA since 1938, the Niagara Transformer Corporation celebrated its 70th Anniversary with a bold exhibit at the 2008 IEEE PES show April 21-24, 2008 in Chicago, Illinois.
“It is important to show the industry that our experience and capability is deep-rooted,” said John Darby, President of Niagara Transformer.
“Our expertise, especially in delivering non-standard, customized transformers designed for rigorous service and extreme conditions is built on decades of serving satisfied customers.”
The company itself goes back further, established 79 years ago in 1929 as Erie Electric Co., a distributor and service provider of electrical systems and equipment. The building of power transformers began as nine years later as an outgrowth of Erie Electric, and has since become the primary business. After 70 years, there are Niagara transformers operating in more than 70 countries throughout the world.
